Brent placed 17th in the New York State Tournament. Over the two days, Ian shot a 153 total: 78 & 75. His team (Section 3)      received a medal for third place and he was the second lowest scorer o his team. For his efforts this season, Brent was one of two kids from Section 3 selected to the New York All State TEAM. Brent is a 2 handicap at his home course.

According to his coach, "Brent  has all the tools to flourish as both a golfer and student. He is very self disciplined, calm under pressure, and constantly thinking through his game, making him one of the area's best players. On the course, Brent constantly strives to be the best. He is an excellent pressure player, he stays within himself to exclusively concentrate on his performance. The short game is one of Brent's strongest suits, his ability to judge and manage distance is outstanding. Strong, consistent and accurate from the tee, Brent continues to get stronger, significantly increasing his distance. Brent has a very good attitude towards the game of golf and wants to improve every time he plays a round. Brent can be found after a practice, at his golf club hitting balls for hours."
